property White powder, innocuous, odorless, amphoteric chloride, dissolvable in acid \ alkali and ammonium chloride solution, undissolved in water and ethanol, absorbing carbon dioxide and water in air, sublimed in 1800℃, assuming yellow in high temperature then resuming white after cooling down. Because of its basicity, it may be mixed with oil materials to make paint with strong tincturing and blotting effect.

Application: zinc oxide used as sulfurizing active agent for natural rubber, synthetic rubber and latex in rubber industry, and as strengthening agent and tinting agent. Used for tinting of oil paint, oil ink and wax cloth. Used as printing dye resisting agent in printing and dyeing industry. Used for production of glass and glaze.
